Rain, rain please stay!

Nothing could stop us from enjoying our Forest School lesson this morning; not even the torrential rain!

We wrapped up warm, put our wellies on and joined Sam under the canvas to make ' Cheerio Birdfeeders'.

The fire pit kept us warm and hearing the sound of rain falling onto our tent and the wind blowing through the trees was wonderful.
Thank you, Steve and Sam!

Y5 visit to Selby Abbey and Ledsham Church

The Y5 children had a memorable day on Tuesday as they visited two of the oldest buildings in our region. Selby Abbey was amazing - the size, the architecture and the space! The Reverend Canon John Weetman has been Vicar of Selby Abbey since 2011 and he was there to meet us and show us round this stunning and sacred place of worship.

After lunch, the children spent the afternoon in Ledsham Church. Although this is our local church, and we visit it frequently, there is always something new to learn about its history, the wonderful stained glass windows and the intricately carved furniture. Thank you to Rev Andy and Audrey for helping us to appreciate the beauty of our Parish Church, 1200 years after it was first built in Anglo Saxon times.

Happy New Year!

I am so proud of the  KS 2 children for creating such wonderful pieces of art. What a colourful display they make to kick off the New Year!
Thank you to Mrs C and Mrs W for your brilliant lessons.
